Action for Education

Marlow Refugee Action has supported Action for Education, an NGO operating on the Greek Islands since September 2020.

In the first 12 months we provided funding for two of their projects, “The Nest” and “The Computer Lab”, providing regular funding towards the costs of these education facilities, initially in Samos but, part way through the year, they were relocated to Athens when the majority of refugees on Samos were moved to the mainland.

We also part-funded accommodation for teachers who were also refugees, on Samos and later on, on Chios. We also provided funding for education resources for children studying on Chios.

From September 2021 we have continued to provide funding for the projects AfE run in Greece and the Greek islands.
