Community Awareness

Information & Fundraising events

We frequently hold fundraising events and information meetings to share news about the refugee crisis generally and about the projects we support.

Keep an eye on our Facebook page for forthcoming events. If you would like us to speak at a community event you are organising please get in touch, we would be glad to help.

Schools Outreach

We think it’s really important for young people to have some understanding of the refugee crisis, so have been delivering assemblies to primary schools in the local area to raise awareness and get young people involved in tackling these social issues head on.

The pupils from several local schools have held fundraising events in support of Marlow Refugee Action and our linked refugee youth projects.

Stories from Volunteers & Refugees

Our Refugee Week 2019 awareness campaign, with the theme “You, Me and Those Who Came Before”, featured stories from Mary, Wafaa and Mike.

Refugee Week 2020 is taking place in June and you can read all about our plans for this year here.

If you’re looking for tales from further ashore, Marlow has produced a multitude of frontline volunteers about whom you can learn much more on the Volunteer Stories section of the site.

Finally, you can listen to the interview with Imad from Imad’s Syrian Kitchen on MarlowFM via the link below:
